Children’s Services Early Childhood Education Manager (Sanford, ME)

40 hours/week; 52 weeks/year Rate: $22.25/hr.

The Early Childhood Education Manager functions as an integral member of the Head Start Team by performing direction and leadership for Head Start Education and Special Services components of the program. The ideal candidate: • Is someone who has extensive experience in the management, leadership and supervision in an early childhood education setting. Head Start experience a plus. Job Responsibilities: • This position holds ultimate responsibility for the program’s education and disability services. • Facilitates effective communication and flow of information to all staff around policy, program updates, and best practices. • Oversees and provides training and technical assistance with the Creative Curriculum. • Monitors for compliance and analyzes child outcomes data to ensure quality and identifies program improvement areas. • Ensures the agency’s full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and Maine Child Care Licensing. Assists staff in meeting education component requirements.

Educational Requirements& Experience: • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field with equivalent coursework in early childhood education and experience teaching preschool children, an 081 is preferred. • Must have at least three years management experience including supervision of staff, possess effective management and leadership skills, and be willing to participate in job related training. • Good organizational and communication skills, as well as data input experience is required. • Must be willing to travel occasionally in and out of state and have own vehicle. Must not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.
