Teachers - Early Head Start (EHS) Boston Provide infant and toddler children at the Early Head Start center with a nurturing, safe and healthy environment and individualized learning experiences to help them develop socially, intellectually, physically and emotionally in achievig social competency. Provide a balance of open-ended exploration, teacher directed activities, structured activities and sensory-based play activities to foster the children's curiosity, engagement, reasoning and problem-solving. Provide care such as diapering, toileting, feeding, dressing and hygiene in a relaxed and indivudalized manner to doster the children's emotional development and help them gain independence in completing these tasks. Develop activities and startegies to engage parents in the educational aspects of the program. Perform other related duties as required. Minimum of an active Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate credential, Associates, Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is required. At least nine months of relevant experience is required. Candidate must be EEC Infant/Toddler Teacher certified; must work cooperatively as aa meber of a teaching team, with program staff and with parents. Ability to maintain confidentility and work in a professioal manner is required. Bilingual in a language spoken by families served by ABCD preferred. Must be able to engage in physical activities while attending to the needs of the center's infant and toddler children and/or while moving classroom equipment. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socioecomnomic and cultural backgrounds. Please note: There are forty three (43) week school year positions and (52) fifty two week positions available.
