Head Start Site Nurse (on call) (EBCAP0442)- RI

East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking an on-call/per diem Head Start Site Nurse for our Head Start/Early Head Start locations in East Providence, Middletown, Newport, Tiverton, Warren, RI. We are seeking a highly professional and motivated individual who enjoys providing on-site supervision and monitoring of the health status and safety needs of the children in accordance with Federal and State Standards and Regulations and keeping with the goals, objectives and mission of the Head Start and Early Head Start Program. The Head Start Site Nurse will review, evaluate, and interpret health records to ensure that children are up to date with age appropriate preventative and primary health care and in compliance with State regulations and Federal standards prior to admittance and throughout program year. He/she will assist families in securing the needed medical care to update physicals and immunizations. He/she also works collaboratively with area physicians in order to facilitate referrals to services and/or obtain records as needed. He/she will utilize the RI Department of Health KIIDSNET website to keep files updated and accurate. He/she will monitor health and safety of classroom environments. The successful candidate will have a minimum of a current license through the Rhode Island Department of Health as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). A Registered Nurse (RN) is preferred. Previous experience in pediatric and/or maternal health is a plus. Must be able to travel to various Head Start sites, and conduct periodic home visits.
